Your hero keeps living while you are away. Other gods' heroes walk the same roads.
— Here begins the tale —
Wayward
Guide a hero who never listens.
Long ago, mortals built shrines to gods who have since been forgotten. Today one of those shrines stirred, and a hero stepped off its altar. The old god is gone. You've claimed the hero instead.
From which forgotten shrine did the hero wake?
What kind of altars will carry your power?{{ styleBlurb }} They change what the altars and works are, and bend one rule each way. None is stronger than another.

Blessing spends a Sigil from your reliquary (combine a Relic and a Tear on the God page). A blessed piece gains +1. The off-hand weapon counts for half. Charms of might add damage, charms of ward add armour, charms of fortune find gold after every victory; only the strongest charm of each kind counts. The hero swaps in better gear on their own.

Kindness, answered prayers and miracles raise it. Punishment, lightning and ignored prayers lower it. Every power has many possible outcomes; you never quite know which. Encouragement means less from a god they already adore, and less again when it comes every few minutes. Deep devotion takes days of care to earn. A hero who adores you leans on you and grows soft. One who hates you for too long, or hears nothing from you for days, will leave.
